Having worked with the web since ’94 I’ve rarely bought a paper in that time and have always found them to be far too general when I do, so I agree with the sentiment. I also don’t see anyone I work with buying papers either, but I do see a whole lot of web surfing at dinner time. IMHO we’ll see a lot of crowd sourced material and not just for news items. The internet is great for news, but also fantastic for most other content. A decent commercial model that gives a win-win for both by providing a return for the author but traffic for portals (as we used to call them back in the day) gives a foundation for lots of crowd sourced media.
